Mission

Our Mission is to foster the basis for bilateral cooperation with Cameroonian public and private authorities, agencies and entities, both and the Federal and Provincial levels; and promote trade, investments and other exchanges between South Africa and Cameroon.
We represent and protect the interests and image of Cameroon in South Africa, within agencies of multilateral cooperation in South Africa, as well as in such other countries as may be placed within our jurisdiction.

Birth Certificate Transcription

(Cameroonian children born in South Africa)
Please contact the high commission for further information.

  • Copies of parents passports identification page ( or pages 1 to 7 if hand written passport) for Cameroonian parents, including the page with South African visa.
  • Original and photocopy of Canadian birth certificate
  • Copy of Marriage certificate (for married couples).
  • Notarized autorisation from the non-Cameroonian parent.

CAMEROON/CEMAC ORDINARY PASSPORT

Adults (at least 20yrs old)

  • Four (4) passport sized photographs measuring 4cm by 4cm, taken in the Consular premises by a designated photographer.
  • Two (2) applications forms for a passport, one of which must carry a fiscal stamp.
  • A certified true copy of applicant’s birth certificate (certified at the High Commission).
  • A certified true copy of applicant’s National Identity Card (certified at the High Commission).
  • A certified true copy of Marriage certificate for women who declare to be housewives (certified at the High Commission).
  • Application fees: R1910

CAMEROON/CEMAC ORDINARY PASSPORT

Children (less than 20yrs old)

  • Four (4) passport sized photographs measuring 4cm by 4cm, taken in the Consular premises by a designated photographer.
  • Two (2) applications forms (both signed by the Father, Mother or Guardian of the Minor), one of which must carry a fiscal stamp.
  • A certified true copy of applicant’s birth certificate (certified at the High Commission).
  • A certified true copy of Father, Mother or Guardian’s National Identity Card (certified at the High Commission)
  • Once the Minor has attained the age of fourteen (14) years, he/she will have to present a certified true copy of the National Identity Card or a resident permit as the case might be. Justification of Profession (Student, apprentice…).
  • Parent’s or Guardian’s Authorization (done at the High Commission)
  • Application fees: R1910

Stay Requirements in Cameroon


Sanitary formalities

Only the vaccine against the yellow fever is obligatory. The vaccine against the B hepatitis is advised.

Customs facilities

The tourists benefit from the regime of the temporary import exempt of the personal use objects.

National destinations: 500F CFA.

Apply for a Visa

Before you apply for a visa, read the Entry Requirements in Cameroon

Applicants for a Cameroon Entry Visa must be in possession of the following:

GENERAL CONDITIONS

  • Copy of return ticket or confirmed flight booking or itinerary
  • Original passport at least 06 months valid (with atleast 03 blank pages)
  • 2 recent passport sized photos
  • Copy of International vaccination card ( Yellow fever, Polio, malaria, etc.)
  • Proof of means of subsistence
  • Employment letter from employer
  • Proof of legal residence (Residence permit for oreign passport holders)
  • Application form to be completed

DIPLOMATIC and OFFICIAL Visits VISA

  • Diplomatic, Official or Service passport with at least 06 months of validity and at least 03 blank pages
  • Note Verbal from the Department of Foreign Affairs or the Organization
  • Two recent passport sized coloured photos from a white background with the person’s name written behind
  • Two fully completed and signed visa application forms
  • Copy of International vaccination card (yellow card)
  • Flight reservation or air ticket
  • Proof of Accommodation from Cameroon
  • Visa fee: Free of charge

DIPLOMATIC Transfers and Postings

  • Diplomatic, Official or Service passport with at least 06 months of validity and at least 03 blank pages
  • A copy of the transfer or posting decision/document of the personnel
  • Two recent passport sized coloured photos from a white background with the person’s name written behind
  • Two fully completed and signed visa application forms
  • Copy of International vaccination card (yellow card)
  • Flight reservation or air ticket
  • Visa fee: Free of charge

BUSINESS VISA

  • GENERAL CONDITIONS ABOVE
  • Business invitation letter certified by the mayor or the Cameroon Immigration
  • Proof of Accommodation (Hotel reservation or Certificate of accommodation)
  • R1000.00 for visas valid from 1 - 3months
  • R2000.00 for visas valid from 3 - 6months

VISITOR’S VISA

  • GENERAL CONDITIONS ABOVE
  • Invitation letter certified by the Cameroon immigration or the mayor
  • Proof of accommodation (Hotel reservation or Certificate of accommodation)
  • Visa fee: R 1000.00
  • N/B: Visa valid from 1 - 3months

STUDY VISA

  • Admission letter from the School in Cameroon
  • Proof of means of Finance (sponsorship)
  • Proof of accommodation in Cameroon
  • Visa fee: R1000.00

TOURIST VISA

  • GENERAL CONDITIONS ABOVE
  • Proof of means of subsistence (bank statement)
  • Hotel accommodation from Cameroon
  • Certificate of ownership and an international motor vehicle insurance when travelling by motor vehicle and an international driving license
  • Visa fee: R1000.00

TRANSIT VISA

  • Visa of country of destination or invitation letter
  • Hotel reservation from Cameroon
  • Visa fee: R1000.00 (Visa is double entry and valid for 5 days each entry)

EXPRESS VISA

  • GENERAL CONDITIONS ABOVE
  • Any applicant requesting the issuance of a visa before
  • The stipulated time will pay an additional Express visa fee of R 500

N/B:
-Our visas take at least 03 working days (72 hours) from the date of reception of the application.
-For payment we accept only cash or postal order addressed to the Cameroon High Commission.
-All invitation letters must be legalised with the competent authorities.

Entry Requirement

All persons entering Cameroon must be in possession of a valid passport (minimum 6 months) or Travel Document establishing the identity of the holder. Travel Documents include Laissez-Passer or other travel documents issued by International Agencies recognized by the Government of Cameroon.
Important Immigration Notice

Travelers may be refused entry into Cameroon if they fall within the category of prohibited immigrants and if they do not satisfy immigration requirements at the point of entry. The Government of Cameroon will not be financially liable for their repatriation.

Guidelines for Visa Applicants

All Visa Applications take a minimum period of twenty-one (21) Business days to process

  • Payments are made payable to Cameroon High Commission, Pretoria and only cash, money orders and certified checks are acceptable.
  • A Single Entry Visa is valid for entry into Cameroon within three months i.e. the visa will expire if not used to travel within three months from the date of issue. However, the actual period permitted for stay in Cameroon shall be endorsed by Cameroon Immigration Service at the point of entry into Cameroon, usually for 60 days.
  • Visas are normally issued for a period of three months but may be extended by the Cameroon Immigration Service before expiration.
  • Multiple-Entry Visas endorsed for six months means that the applicant is granted unlimited entries into Cameroon within six months from date visa was issued.
  • Nationals of the following countries are exempted from obtaining entry visas to Cameroon: Chad, Central African Republic, Nigeria.
  • Holders of Special, Diplomatic and Service Passports are exempted from visa fees.
